Remote Customer Success - Sustainability APAC Role — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote Flexibility & Timezone Constraints: This role is fully remote but anchored to the APAC region — specifically China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, or the Philippines. You'll need to work within APAC business hours to serve customers and attend cross-timezone internal meetings. This limits pure nomadic flexibility to APAC-timezone-compatible destinations (UTC+7 to UTC+8 range).
Visa Considerations: Since the role requires residence in one of four specified countries, standard digital nomad or tourist visa workarounds are not suitable here. You'd need a proper work authorization in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, or the Philippines. The Philippines offers relatively accessible long-stay visas (e.g., SRRV or 13A), Vietnam has the new e-visa up to 90 days but requires a proper work permit for employment, and Hong Kong's employment visa is employer-sponsored.
Cost of Living vs. Salary: The $15,000–$25,000 USD annual range is calibrated for APAC markets. In context:
- Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: Very comfortable — monthly costs for a professional run ~$800–$1,200 USD.
- Manila, Philippines: Solid living — ~$900–$1,400/month for a comfortable lifestyle.
- Hong Kong: The salary would be tight given high rents ($2,000+ USD/month for a basic apartment).
Travel-Relevant Perks: An equipment stipend and work-from-home stipend are included, plus occasional travel to industry events in APAC — a genuine perk for those who enjoy regional travel on the company's dime.
Location: Remote (China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, or Philippines)
Reports to: Regional Lead, APAC
