Remote Service Development Consultant - BCD Travel Europe — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote Flexibility: This role is advertised as remote-first across eight European countries — Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, and the UK. For most locations, full remote work is supported. The main caveat is for Poland: Warsaw-based workers must go in-office 50% of the time monthly, while those in Kraków or Rzeszów need at least one day per week in-office. Outside of Poland, the setup appears genuinely location-flexible within Europe.
Timezone Constraints: No specific timezone hours are stated, but given BCD Travel's pan-European stakeholder environment, expect core hours aligned with CET/CEST (UTC+1/+2). This makes European nomad bases ideal and may work for early risers in Southeast Asia or late workers in South America, though async culture isn't explicitly confirmed.
Visa Considerations: You must be based in one of the eight listed countries, ruling out pure nomad arrangements. EU citizens have full freedom of movement across these countries. Non-EU workers should check each country's work visa requirements — Spain's Digital Nomad Visa or Germany's Freelancer Visa won't apply here since this is a salaried employment role.
Cost of Living Snapshot (Netherlands salary range: €42k–€60k):
- Lisbon, Portugal: €2,000–€2,500/month comfortable living — but you'd need to be based in one of the eight listed countries.
- Barcelona, Spain: Role covers Spain at €28k–€38.5k — livable but modest in a major city.
- Berlin, Germany: €53k–€62k range here offers a comfortable mid-level lifestyle.
Travel industry perks and discounts are a notable bonus for anyone who loves to explore.
