Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote Flexibility: Juniper Square explicitly supports fully remote work and operates across 27 U.S. states and 2 Canadian provinces with a "digital-first" culture. This is a genuinely remote-capable role, not just remote-tolerant — though it is restricted to the US and Canada, limiting geographic freedom for international nomads.

Timezone Constraints: The job description doesn't specify fixed hours, and the digital-first emphasis suggests meaningful async flexibility. However, client-facing responsibilities (direct client interfacing, audit coordination) likely require overlap with North American business hours (EST–PST), making this best suited for nomads based in the Americas or early-morning Europe (e.g., Lisbon, GMT+1).

Visa Considerations: Since the role requires US or Canadian residency/authorization, international nomad visas (e.g., Portugal's Digital Nomad Visa, Mexico's Temporary Resident Visa) won't satisfy the employer's location requirements. This role suits nomads who are US or Canadian citizens or permanent residents traveling domestically or to countries with no income-sourcing restrictions.

Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living (USD $110k–$125k):

  • Lisbon, Portugal: Comfortable budget ~$2,500/mo — this salary affords a very high quality of life, but you'd need to verify tax treaty implications as a US/CA resident.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,500–$2,000/mo for a comfortable lifestyle — strong purchasing power, though time zone overlap with US clients would be challenging.
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,800–$2,200/mo — excellent value with partial EST overlap, ideal for US-based remote workers traveling in LATAM.

Perks for Nomads: A home office/tech setup allowance and annual professional development stipend are practical wins for remote workers who need to build their own workspace infrastructure.
