Remote Football Localization SME - Ukrainian at Welocalize — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is highly compatible with a location-independent, digital nomad lifestyle. The job explicitly requires the ability to work independently and remotely, and there is no mention of fixed office hours, required timezone, or mandatory video calls — making it strongly async-friendly.
Since this is a freelance/contractor-style linguistics role (project-based translation, MTPE, and quality control), you can likely pick up tasks on your own schedule. This is ideal for nomads who move across time zones frequently. The sole hard requirement is native-level Ukrainian fluency, which defines your linguistic profile rather than your physical location.
For Ukrainian-speaking nomads, popular bases to consider include:
- Tbilisi, Georgia — Very affordable (~$800–1,200/month), no visa required for Ukrainians for up to 365 days, strong expat community
- Warsaw, Poland — Familiar culture, EU access, roughly $1,500–2,000/month depending on lifestyle
- Chiang Mai, Thailand — Classic nomad hub, ~$900–1,400/month; Thailand offers a 60-day tourist visa extendable by 30 days
No travel-specific perks (coworking stipend, equipment budget) are mentioned, so budget accordingly. This role suits nomads who want a supplementary or primary income stream with maximum schedule flexibility — especially those already working in sports media or linguistics.
