Traveler-Friendly Insight

Excellent fit for the location-independent lifestyle. Ruby Labs explicitly states that employees can work from anywhere, and the only hard constraint is being within ±4 hours of CET (Central European Time, UTC+1/+2). This opens up a very wide corridor for nomads.

Timezone flexibility: The ±4-hour CET window means you can be based in locations spanning UTC-3 to UTC+6. This covers popular nomad hubs including:

  • Lisbon, Portugal (CET-1): Within the window — low cost of living (~€1,500–2,000/mo), NHR tax regime, and a Portugal Digital Nomad Visa available for non-EU workers.
  • Tbilisi, Georgia (CET+3): Just within the window — very affordable (~$800–1,200/mo), 1-year Small Business visa available, thriving nomad scene.
  • Bangkok, Thailand (CET+6): At the very edge of the window — workable if you shift your mornings. Thailand's LTR (Long-Term Resident) Visa or the METV are options. Low cost (~$1,000–1,500/mo).

Contract structure: This is an Independent Contractor Agreement — ideal for nomads as it simplifies cross-border payment and reduces employer tax complexity. You are responsible for your own taxes, which is standard in nomad-friendly arrangements.

Perks relevant to travelers: A company-provided MacBook removes the need for hardware investment. Unlimited PTO gives scheduling freedom. No coworking stipend is explicitly mentioned, so budget accordingly.

About The Role

This is a senior, hands-on media buying role with end-to-end ownership. You will own the whole acquisition process on Paid Social acquisition channels: strategy, account structure, bidding, budget allocation, creative testing, measurement, scaling, and account health. You decide what to test, what to scale, and what to cut — and you are accountable for the results.

We need someone who has already run Paid Social Ads at scale, who knows how to grow profitably in a policy-sensitive niche, and who can operate independently on large budgets. You will manage performance against real revenue data (CPA, FTD, ROAS, payback, player LTV and cohorts), not surface-level platform metrics. We also work AI-first, and we expect you to use Claude and automation to move faster.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership: Take full ownership of acquisition across all paid social ad networks (TikTok, Meta, AppLovin, Snapchat, and more): planning, launch, optimization, scaling, reporting, and documentation.
  • Profitable scaling: Scale spend profitably in the US market while holding payback, ROAS, and CPA targets based on real revenue and player-value data.
  • Account structure: Build and optimize account structure, conversion events, value-based bidding, and budget allocation across paid social networks.
  • Budget allocation: Decide budget allocation across acquisition channels and find new scaling levers: audiences, formats, placements, campaign types, and additional channels.
  • Creative testing: Run a structured, high-velocity creative testing process with the creative team on all channels, with clear hypotheses and kill/scale rules.
  • Signal quality: Manage conversion events, event value, deposit/purchase optimization, and attribution.
  • Policy compliance: Operate in a policy-sensitive niche — run in the US within each platform's rules. Handle disapprovals, appeals, and restrictions, and build prevention-first processes so issues are caught before launch.
  • Account health: Protect account health by managing ad account structure, backups, and recovery plans.
  • Platform relationships: Work with reps on betas, new campaign types, and escalations.
  • Diagnostics: Diagnose drops and spikes quickly and act on them.
  • Documentation & automation: Document tests, learnings, and playbooks; use Claude and automation to speed up builds, QA, reporting, and optimization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on paid social / user acquisition experience.
  • Large-scale experience running acquisitions in the US market.
  • Proven experience working in policy-sensitive niches and keeping accounts healthy while scaling.
  • Strong hands-on Meta Ads experience scaling accounts profitably.
  • Hands-on AppLovin (AppLovin Ads / AXON) experience, scaling it as an acquisition channel.
  • Direct ownership of large budgets, ideally $1M+/month hands-on.
  • Strong understanding of unit economics: LTV, ROAS, payback windows, cohorts, high-value-user dynamics, and value-based optimization.
  • Deep policy and account health experience: disapprovals, appeals, restrictions, ad account bans, and how to recover and prevent them.
  • Strong creative testing discipline and measurement rigor.
  • Ownership mentality: you run channels end-to-end with minimal supervision and take responsibility for outcomes.
