Senior Golang Engineer at Zartis - 100% Remote Europe — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote-First & Location-Flexible: This role is 100% remote with no office requirement, making it genuinely nomad-compatible. Zartis operates across EMEA and LATAM, so the expected timezone window is likely CET ± 3–4 hours — covering Europe, Africa, and parts of South America comfortably. Candidates in Southeast Asia or the Americas on the far west coast may face challenging overlap hours.
Async Signals: The distributed team structure and Agile/CI/CD culture suggest a degree of async work, though cross-functional collaboration with designers, PMs, and testers implies some synchronous meetings. Expect a hybrid async/sync setup rather than fully async.
Visa Considerations for Nomads: Based on the Europe hint and EMEA/LATAM scope, strong visa options include:
- Portugal D8 Digital Nomad Visa — ideal for EU-area remote workers earning above the threshold
- Spain Digital Nomad Visa — available for non-EU remote workers with qualifying income
- Georgia Remotely from Georgia — easy entry, low cost of living
- Schengen 90/180 tourist stays for shorter stays across Europe
Cost of Living Comparison: While salary is undisclosed, a senior Golang engineer in EMEA/LATAM typically earns €60k–€90k+ annually. In Lisbon, that comfortably covers a quality lifestyle (~€2,000–2,500/mo). In Bangkok, it enables premium living (~€1,200–1,800/mo). In Medellín, it's excellent value (~€1,000–1,500/mo).
Perks Relevant to Nomads: The monthly WFH allowance can help offset coworking costs. Training budgets (courses, conferences) provide reasons to visit tech hubs globally.
