Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is structured as a CLT (Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho) contract paid in Brazilian Reais (BRL), which is a Brazilian employment regime. This is a key constraint: CLT contracts legally require the employee to be a resident and taxpayer in Brazil, making this role unsuitable for foreign digital nomads or non-Brazilian remote workers looking to work while traveling internationally.

For Brazilian nationals or residents, however, the remote-first culture is a genuine perk. Teachable explicitly avoids mandating office attendance, and the emphasis on async communication and documentation-focused workflows signals real location flexibility within Brazil's timezone (BRT, UTC-3).

  • Async-friendliness: The posting explicitly values balancing async communications with virtual meetings — a positive sign for flexible scheduling.
  • Timezone: BRT (UTC-3) aligns well with other Latin American hubs like Buenos Aires and Bogotá if you travel within the region, though the CLT contract anchors your tax residency in Brazil.
  • Travel within Brazil: Since work is fully remote, Brazilian residents can work from different cities — São Paulo, Florianópolis, or Recife — without issue.

If you are a non-Brazilian nomad hoping to take this role, look for Teachable's USD-denominated or contractor openings instead, which may offer greater geographic flexibility.
