Senior Platform Engineer at Zartis - Remote Europe — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Location Flexibility: This role is 100% remote and open across EMEA and LATAM, making it genuinely location-independent. Zartis's distributed team model signals a degree of async-friendliness, though you should expect some overlap hours with European time zones (the client is in the fashion industry, likely Central European).
Timezone Considerations: The mention of German as a "nice to have" and EMEA hubs suggests the core team operates on CET/CEST (UTC+1/+2). Digital nomads in Lisbon (WET/WEST) would align almost perfectly. Working from Bangkok (UTC+7) is possible but would require early morning overlap — roughly 7–9 AM local for European standups. Medellín (UTC-5) means late-afternoon availability for European hours, which could work with a hybrid async setup.
Perks for Nomads:
- Monthly WFH allowance can offset coworking space costs in nomad hubs
- Training budget (Pluralsight, courses, conferences) supports professional development on the road
- No office requirement means no visa tied to a specific country
Visa Considerations: LATAM residents may use tourist visas for short-stay EU travel. Portugal's Digital Nomad Visa (D8) suits applicants based in Europe. Spain's Digital Nomad Visa is another option. Always verify Zartis's contractor vs. employee setup, as it affects tax residency obligations.
