Senior Enterprise Engineer at Branch - Remote USA — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote, but U.S.-only: Branch explicitly states this role is remote within the United States only, and candidates outside the domestic U.S. cannot be hired. This means traditional digital nomad arrangements in places like Lisbon, Bangkok, or Medellín are not compatible with this position — at least not formally.
Timezone flexibility: The posting does not specify required working hours, and Branch describes itself as a remote-first culture emphasizing transparency and trust. This suggests some async-friendly flexibility, though cross-functional collaboration with U.S.-based teams likely anchors you to U.S. business hours (ET/PT overlap windows).
Perks relevant to remote workers:
- Monthly home-office stipend — helps cover a quality workspace setup, though it won't cover international co-working spaces.
- Flexible time off — good for managing your own schedule domestically.
- Same Day Pay option — unique fintech perk, though primarily relevant for hourly workers.
Compensation context: At $175K–$190K annually, this salary is strong even in high cost-of-living U.S. cities. However, since you must remain within U.S. borders, international cost-of-living arbitrage isn't an option here. U.S.-based remote workers in lower cost-of-living states (e.g., Texas, Tennessee, Ohio) will see significant purchasing power advantages compared to coastal metros.
If you're a U.S. citizen currently traveling domestically or between U.S. states, this role offers strong remote flexibility. International nomads should look for roles without geographic hiring restrictions.

- Define coding standards and best practices for interacting with AI agents across Branch
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Branch to scope and deliver solutions
- Write clean, well-documented code and contribute to a culture of technical quality
What We're Looking For:

- 3+ years of experience with full-stack Python development
- Experience building or working with MCP servers
- Experience with Deterministic LLM programming (e.g., LangChain, UserPromptSubmit, PostToolUse)
- Familiarity with OLTP databases and caching technologies
- Strong proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
