Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is tagged #LI-REMOTE and operates under Pinterest's PinFlex model, which signals meaningful location flexibility — but there's a critical constraint: US-based applicants only. That means you must hold valid US work authorization and likely maintain a US address for tax and compliance purposes, limiting this to nomads who are US citizens or permanent residents.

Pinterest's PinFlex framework generally supports async-friendly work culture, though the degree of schedule flexibility will depend on the specific team's timezone needs. As a QA/SDET role collaborating across frontend, backend, and product teams, expect some overlap hours — likely Pacific or Eastern time for standups and reviews.

Salary context for nomadic living:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–3,500/month. Even the base salary ($109K+) provides strong purchasing power, though you'd need to manage US tax obligations abroad.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: Monthly costs of $1,500–2,500 make this salary extremely comfortable, but Thai visa rules (Tourist/METV) require frequent border runs or a Thai LTR visa.
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,800–2,800/month for a good lifestyle; Colombia offers a Digital Nomad Visa for stays up to 2 years — a strong match for US remote workers.

No explicit travel perks (coworking stipend, equipment budget) are mentioned beyond the general culture page. No relocation assistance is offered.
