Store Manager at Platypus Shoes - On-Site QLD AU — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This is an on-site, in-store management role at Platypus Shoes Grand Plaza in Hillcrest, Queensland, Australia. It requires physical presence five days a week (Tuesday to Saturday roster) and is not compatible with a remote or location-independent lifestyle. There is no async flexibility — you must be present to manage a retail floor team, monitor store operations, and engage with customers in person.
For digital nomads or frequent travelers, this role is not a fit. However, if you are based in or relocating to Southeast Queensland, there are some lifestyle positives worth noting:
- The Tuesday–Saturday roster gives you Sunday and Monday off — non-standard days off that can mean cheaper travel, quieter destinations, and easier weekend getaways.
- Australia's southeast Queensland is well-connected to Asia-Pacific travel hubs, making regional travel accessible on long weekends.
- No salary is disclosed, so cost-of-living comparisons aren't possible — but retail Store Manager salaries in Australia typically range AUD $55,000–$75,000, which is comfortable for Queensland living.
If you're seeking a truly remote or travel-compatible role, look for positions in e-commerce management, digital merchandising, or remote retail operations instead.
