Sr Marketing Ops Specialist at Engine - Remote US — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote-US Restriction Limits Nomad Flexibility
This role is designated Remote – US only, meaning you must maintain a US address and likely work within US business hours. While the posting doesn't specify exact timezone requirements, a Revenue Operations-aligned Marketing Ops role typically requires real-time collaboration with sales and marketing teams — expect a Pacific to Eastern time window, roughly 9am–6pm ET/PT overlap.
For US-based digital nomads, this is very workable. Popular domestic nomad destinations like Austin, TX, Asheville, NC, or Portland, OR offer coworking infrastructure and reasonable cost of living. International travel is constrained by the US-only requirement — working abroad on a tourist visa while employed by a US company carries legal and tax risks you'd need to evaluate carefully.
What to look for as a nomad:
- Confirm with the hiring team whether "Remote US" means you must reside in a specific state or simply be authorized to work in the US.
- Ask about equipment stipends or home-office allowances — not mentioned in the posting but common at VC-backed fintechs of this scale.
- Salary data is not disclosed, so cost-of-living comparisons (e.g., Lisbon, Bangkok) are not applicable for this role's geographic restrictions.
If you're seeking true location independence with international flexibility, this role may not be the best fit. Look for roles explicitly labeled "global remote" or "timezone-flexible."
