Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as open to applicants anywhere in the world, making it a genuinely location-independent position for digital nomads. The job description does not specify required working hours or a mandatory timezone, which suggests a degree of async flexibility — though collaborating with a Mexico City-headquartered team likely means some overlap with Central Time (UTC-6) is beneficial.

At $3,500–$5,000 USD/month ($42,000–$60,000/year), this salary stretches impressively across popular nomad hubs:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: Comfortable lifestyle on ~$2,500/month. You'd save significantly, and Portugal's Digital Nomad Visa (D8) is a strong fit for non-EU workers.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: High quality of life at ~$1,500–$2,000/month. Thailand's LTR (Long-Term Resident) visa or tourist visa extensions work well for remote workers.
  • Medellín, Colombia: Great infrastructure and co-working scene for ~$1,200–$1,800/month. Colombia's digital nomad visa (Nómada Digital) is straightforward to obtain.

The posting does not mention equipment stipends, coworking allowances, or travel budgets, so factor those costs into your planning. The strong AI/LLM focus means this role keeps your skills cutting-edge — a major asset for sustaining a nomadic career long-term. C1 English fluency is required, which most international nomads will easily meet.
