Customer Advocate Lead at Hospitable - Remote US TZ — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is fully remote and location-independent in principle — Hospitable.com hires by timezone, not country. However, there is a firm US timezone constraint: candidates must operate within US time zones (ET through PT). This effectively means you need to be available roughly between 9am–6pm US Eastern to Pacific time, which suits digital nomads based in the Americas, parts of Europe (morning overlap), or Western Africa.
The support lead role requires real-time presence for live chat coverage (targeting <5 min first response times), so this is not an async-friendly role. You'll need reliable, fast internet and a consistent working schedule — important to factor in when choosing destinations.
- Lisbon, Portugal: US ET overlap in late afternoon/evening (5–9h ahead). Manageable but limiting — you'd work evenings. Rent ~$1,200–1,800/mo. Salary covers this comfortably.
- Medellín, Colombia: Same timezone as US ET (no daylight saving offset). Near-perfect fit. Cost of living ~$1,000–1,500/mo, making this salary very livable.
- Mexico City, Mexico: CT zone, fully within US coverage window. Low cost of living (~$1,200/mo). Excellent digital nomad infrastructure.
Contractors are hired internationally, meaning you may work from many countries without needing a local employer. Check each country's digital nomad visa options (Colombia, Mexico, and Portugal all have relevant programs). No explicit equipment stipend or coworking allowance is mentioned.
