Remote Marketing Coordinator (French) - GUS Global — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is listed as open to applicants anywhere in the world, making it a strong candidate for location-independent work. The consultancy (freelance/contract) structure further enhances flexibility — you bill as an independent contractor, which is typically compatible with digital nomad visas and short-stay tourist arrangements in many countries.
Timezone & Schedule: The description mentions "face-to-face calls" for brief clarification, suggesting some synchronous availability is required. GUS operates globally across Europe, North America, and Asia, so the team likely spans multiple timezones. Expect some overlap hours to be necessary, though the role appears largely async-friendly for day-to-day task management via tools like Asana and Monday.com.
Visa considerations: As a contractor, you handle your own tax and legal status. Popular nomad-friendly visa options include:
- Portugal (D8 Nomad Visa): Suitable for freelancers earning remote income — Lisbon and Porto are affordable for Western European standards.
- Thailand (LTR Visa or tourist stays): Low cost of living in Chiang Mai or Bangkok; great for contractors without a fixed home base.
- Colombia (Digital Nomad Visa): Medellín is highly popular and very cost-effective for remote contractors.
No salary data is provided, so budget planning depends on your negotiated rate. As a marketing coordinator contractor role at a global edu-tech firm, expect mid-range rates. Always confirm rate expectations early in the interview process.
