Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as a contractor position on We Work Remotely, which signals remote-friendly work — but the job description explicitly states USA Only, meaning digital nomads must maintain a U.S. presence or at minimum U.S.-based legal status to qualify.

The requirement to have flexibility to work across different time zones suggests some async tolerance, but the nature of creative collaboration (script workshops, peer feedback, hiring manager interviews) implies periodic synchronous availability. Expect some Pacific Time alignment given the Culver City headquarters.

For U.S.-based nomads, this contractor role pairs well with the domestic nomad lifestyle — traveling between U.S. cities while working remotely. No visa pathways for non-U.S. residents are viable here given the country restriction.

  • Lisbon: Not viable — country restriction limits to U.S. workers only.
  • Bangkok / Medellín: Similarly off the table due to the USA-only requirement.

On the upside, as a contractor role, you gain schedule flexibility that suits travel within the U.S. The work itself — reading novels and writing screenplays — is highly portable and largely async in its core output. Look for a coworking allowance or home-office stipend during contract negotiations, as none are listed in the posting.
