Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack - Capital One Software (Remote)

As a Capital One Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful software that enables our customers to manage their data securely and efficiently at any scale.
What You'll Do:
Lead a diverse set of technology projects and a team of developers with expertise in distributed microservices, latency-sensitive applications, and full stack systems to create robust, cloud-native, resilient, and highly scalable solutions in data management and security domains.
Write high quality code and perform code and design reviews.
Share your passion for coding, stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor fellow engineers.
Promote a culture of engineering excellence by reusing and inner sourcing solutions where possible. Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
Guide stakeholders during design and architecture discussions, help teams make key technology choices, and remain involved throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with architects and product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful customer experiences.
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, Node, Go, and Rust; work with open source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; employ container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes; and leverage various AWS tools and services.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply).
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
At least 4 years of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree.
9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Go, Node, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Rust.
4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.
7+ years of people management experience.
2+ years of experience in Agile practices.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of working hours.
Remote (Regardless of Location): $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering
Richmond, VA: $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annual salary offered will be specified in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI), which may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
