Associate Instructor at BeyondTrust - Remote Canada — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is listed as Remote Canada — East Coast, which signals that while it is a remote position, there is likely an East Coast Canada timezone constraint (ET/AT). Live training delivery inherently requires synchronous availability, meaning fixed session times aligned with customer and partner schedules. This is not a fully async-friendly role — expect scheduled virtual classroom sessions that anchor your day to North American business hours (roughly 9am–5pm ET).
For digital nomads, this creates meaningful constraints:
- Lisbon (WET/WEST): 5 hours ahead of ET. Morning sessions in Canada would fall mid-to-late afternoon in Lisbon — workable but tight for evening social life.
- Bangkok (ICT): 11–12 hours ahead. North American business hours would land in the middle of the night — effectively incompatible without a significant schedule sacrifice.
- Medellín (COT): 1 hour behind ET — nearly ideal overlap, making Colombia a genuinely viable base for this role.
The posting does not mention a coworking stipend, equipment budget, or travel allowance. As a junior role, compensation is likely entry-level by Canadian standards, which could stretch well in lower-cost destinations like Medellín or Eastern Europe — if timezone overlap is viable. Canadian residents may qualify for provincial remote work arrangements; non-Canadians should note the role appears to require Canadian residency or work authorization.
