Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role at MSC Cruises' private island reserve, Ocean Cay in the Bahamas, is not a traditional remote/digital nomad position. It is an on-site, physical role requiring your presence on a remote island — though "remote" in the geographic sense rather than the work-from-anywhere sense.

Location & Lifestyle: You would be living and working on Ocean Cay, a private MSC island in the Bahamas. Staff accommodation is provided, which significantly reduces your cost of living — housing, likely meals, and utilities may be partially or fully covered, making your effective take-home value higher than the nominal salary.

Visa Considerations: You must be eligible to live and work in the Bahamas. Non-Bahamian applicants will likely need a work permit sponsored by MSC Cruises. The Bahamas does not currently offer a widely accessible digital nomad visa, so employer-sponsored work authorization is essential.

Travel Perks: Working on a cruise line's private island means proximity to MSC's cruise infrastructure, potential crew benefits, and a genuinely unique lifestyle experience. However, this is a fixed-location, schedule-driven role — irrigation and grounds maintenance follow strict daily and seasonal schedules with no flexibility for location-independent work.

  • Not suitable for nomads seeking location flexibility
  • Ideal for adventurers wanting an immersive island living experience
  • Accommodation provided reduces financial overhead significantly
