Traveler-Friendly Insight

Important Residency Restriction: Despite being a fully remote role, this position has a hard requirement that candidates must have been resident in Spain for the last 5 consecutive years. This means it is not suitable for most digital nomads or location-independent workers who move frequently between countries.

Schedule & Async Flexibility: As a freelance contributor role, work is largely self-directed with no fixed hours mentioned — making it highly async-friendly in terms of daily scheduling. You can work from any location within Spain at your preferred times, as long as you meet productivity targets and maintain quality standards.

Visa Considerations: Since you must legally reside in Spain, the relevant permit options include Spain's Digital Nomad Visa (Startup Law), an EU Blue Card, or standard residency permits. However, the 5-year consecutive residency requirement means applicants must already hold long-term legal status in Spain — a fresh digital nomad visa holder would not qualify.

Lifestyle Fit: This is a good side-income or supplemental role for Spain-based remote workers. Without salary data, it's hard to benchmark, but AI rating/annotation gigs typically pay €10–€20/hour. In cities like Madrid or Barcelona, this is unlikely to be a primary income source, but works well as flexible supplemental earnings.

  • No travel perks, coworking stipend, or equipment allowance mentioned.
  • Freelance structure means no employment protections typical of salaried roles.
