Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as fully remote, which is appealing at first glance — but digital nomads should carefully assess the practical constraints before packing their bags.

Schedule flexibility is limited. The position requires 30–40 hours per week including evenings and weekends, calibrated to the schedules of U.S.-based K–12 parents and students. This strongly implies U.S. time zone alignment (likely ET/PT), making it very difficult to work from destinations like Southeast Asia or Europe without severely disrupting your sleep schedule.

Best-fit nomad destinations given U.S. timezone constraints would be within the Americas:

  • Medellín, Colombia (COT, UTC-5): At $25/hr (~$52K/year for 40 hrs), your earnings go very far. Monthly costs of $1,200–$1,800 make this highly comfortable.
  • Mexico City, Mexico (CST/CDT): Near-perfect timezone overlap with U.S. clients, low cost of living (~$1,400–$2,000/month), and strong digital nomad infrastructure.
  • Lisbon, Portugal (WET): Reachable only if you work late-night shifts (7–10 PM local for ET overlap) — possible but tiring long-term.

Visa considerations: The role is US-only based on allowed countries, so you'd need to maintain US work authorization. Working from abroad on a tourist visa may have tax and legal implications — consult a tax professional before relocating internationally.

No coworking or equipment stipends are mentioned in the posting.
