Remote Insurance Specialist - Philippines & India — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Schedule Constraints Are the Key Factor Here: This role requires fixed hours of 9am–6pm EST, five days a week including one weekend day. For a nomad based in the Philippines, that translates to 10pm–7am PHT — a graveyard shift schedule. This is a significant lifestyle consideration and not suited to those seeking flexible or async work arrangements.
Location Restrictions: The role is explicitly open only to candidates in the Philippines and India. Digital nomads currently traveling outside these two countries are not eligible to apply. If you hold a Philippine or Indian passport, you would need to remain in-country or in a timezone-compatible location.
Nomad Practicality:
- Manila/Cebu (Philippines): Cost of living is very favorable — a comfortable lifestyle runs ~$800–$1,200/month, making even a modest USD salary stretch well.
- Bangalore/Hyderabad (India): Similarly affordable, ~$700–$1,100/month for a comfortable setup.
- The late-night EST shift means coworking spaces may not be practical; a quiet, stable home office with a reliable internet connection is essential.
No travel-specific perks (equipment stipend, coworking allowance) are mentioned. Given the fixed night-shift schedule and country restrictions, this role is best suited to Philippines or India-based professionals who prefer remote work from home rather than active nomads moving between destinations.
