Senior Account Manager at StackAdapt - Remote USA — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is officially Remote First, but StackAdapt is actively prioritizing candidates in New York City — a meaningful constraint for true location-independent nomads. The 20% travel requirement for client meetings, QBRs, and presentations adds another anchor, as you'll need to be available for in-person engagements on short notice.
Timezone flexibility is limited. Client-facing Account Manager roles typically require availability during core US business hours (Eastern or Central time), especially given a NYC-preferred client base. Async-friendly arrangements are unlikely to be offered consistently in this role.
Visa considerations: Since the role is US-based and prioritizes NYC candidates, you'd ideally need existing US work authorization. Digital nomad visas in countries like Portugal or Costa Rica wouldn't satisfy this requirement.
Salary vs. nomad cost-of-living context:
- Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–$3,500/month. At $96K–$132K USD, you'd have significant surplus — but you'd need to maintain US work authorization and manage transatlantic time zones.
- Bangkok, Thailand: $1,500–$2,500/month covers a high quality of life, but the 11–12 hour time difference makes US client calls very challenging.
- Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,800–$2,800/month. Only 1–2 hours off Eastern time — arguably the most nomad-compatible option if the company allows it.
The WeWork global membership perk is a genuine nomad-friendly benefit if flexibility is negotiated. However, prospective nomads should clarify explicitly whether non-NYC remote arrangements are truly accepted before applying.
