Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is not suitable for a location-independent or nomadic lifestyle. The job posting explicitly states that the candidate must be located in the San Jose Bay Area, and a core requirement is frequent in-person customer meetings locally in the Bay Area, as well as relationship management with teams in Austin, TX and Asia.

While the posting includes a #LI-remote tag, the explicit geographic requirement and the in-person customer engagement duties make this effectively a field-based sales role, not a remote-friendly position. Digital nomads or remote workers based outside the Bay Area would not be eligible.

For context on the salary vs. cost of living:

  • San Jose / Bay Area: The $167k–$209k range is competitive but modest for the Bay Area's extremely high cost of living. A comfortable single-person monthly budget in San Jose runs $4,500–$6,000+.
  • Lisbon or Bangkok: This salary would represent exceptional purchasing power abroad, but relocation is not an option given the role's requirements.

If you are seeking a remote-friendly or travel-compatible role in enterprise tech sales, look for positions explicitly labeled "remote" with no geographic residency requirement, or roles focused on global accounts where travel is project-based rather than regular local presence.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.

TE's Data and Device business unit seeks an experienced Account Manager to join our Enterprise sales team for one of our top enterprise accounts. As an Account Manager, you will work closely with another Account Manager and report directly to the Global Account Manager, driving account growth through relationship building, securing new design wins, and conducting market share analysis.
