Remote Math Tutor Job USA - Part-Time Online Teaching — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is fully remote and part-time (under 20 hours/week), which makes it attractive at first glance for digital nomads — but there is a significant constraint: you must be US-based, and the schedule requires availability during weekday evenings and weekends in US time zones. This means if you're traveling internationally, your sessions would fall in late-night or early-morning hours depending on your destination.
Timezone considerations by nomad destination:
- Lisbon (WET/UTC+0 or +1): US Eastern evenings (6–9 PM ET) = 11 PM–2 AM Lisbon — difficult long-term.
- Bangkok (ICT/UTC+7): US evenings = 6–9 AM next day Bangkok — potentially workable as a morning shift.
- Medellín (COT/UTC-5): Nearly aligned with US Eastern — very feasible for nomads in Latin America.
At $20–25/hr for under 20 hrs/week, gross weekly income tops out around $500, which comfortably covers cost of living in Medellín (~$1,200–1,800/month) but is tight for Lisbon (~$2,000–2,500/month). Since this is a US-only remote role, you'd need to maintain US tax residency and likely a US address. No travel-specific perks (coworking stipend, equipment budget) are mentioned.
Best suited as a supplementary income stream for US-based nomads traveling within the Americas or working from home bases in similar time zones.
