Peak Design Camera Cube V2, Small — Weatherproof Mirrorless Protection for Frequent Flyers

The gist: A featherlight, weatherproof camera cube that slots neatly into carry-on bags and keeps compact mirrorless gear protected through the harshest travel conditions.

  • Weather resistance: Shell is 100% recycled bluesign-approved 160D nylon canvas with seam-taped weatherproofing and #8 Ultra Zip weatherproof zippers — built for unpredictable conditions on the road.
  • Carry-on friendly weight: Weighs just 220g without dividers (310g with the full FlexFold divider set), keeping your overall bag weight in check for budget airline restrictions.
  • Compact footprint: External dimensions of 15 x 31 x 15 cm and a 6L interior fit into tight overhead compartments or the camera compartment of most travel backpacks.
  • Quick access on the move: The 360-degree seatbelt-webbing grab handle and removable padded lid let you reach your camera fast — no fumbling at border crossings or golden-hour shoots.

According to Digital Camera World, hands-on testing confirmed the Small handles compact mirrorless kits comfortably, though its 13.5 cm internal depth — 2 cm less than the previous version — makes fitting bulky DSLR bodies or long telephoto lenses genuinely challenging.

Best for: Travel content creators and digital nomads shooting with compact mirrorless or point-and-shoot cameras. Skip it if: At only 13.5 cm internal depth, the Small struggles to accommodate larger camera bodies with battery grips or telephoto lenses beyond 29 cm, limiting it to compact mirrorless or point-and-shoot kits.
