Hip Belt for Outdoor Backpack 25L and 45L

$22

Stabilize your pack and take weight off your shoulders with the Outdoor Hip Belt—the same exact Hip Belt that comes standard with the Outdoor Backpack 45L. You can purchase this Hip Belt either as a replacement, or to add Hip Belt functionality to your Outdoor Backpack 25L. The belt is padded, with a mesh zip pocket (right) and a stretchy slip pocket and Capture Clip* attachment point (left). The belt quickly attaches/detaches via keyhole attachment points located behind the back pad of the 45L/25L Outdoor Backpacks. Multiple keyhole attachment points, as well as widely adjustable webbing length, allow this hip belt to fit a broadly inclusive range of waist sizes—from 24" to 52" (61cm to 132cm). PFAS-free and made from Bluesign approved materials. Fair Trade Certified and 100% carbon neutral.

Peak Design Hip Belt for Outdoor Backpack — Shoulder Saver for Loaded Trail Days

The gist: A compact, quickly detachable hip belt that transfers pack weight off your shoulders and onto your hips — worth adding to the 25L when your camera gear and gear turns heavy on long approach hikes.

  • Weight transfer: Padded construction shifts load from shoulders to hips via keyhole attachment points behind the back panel of the 25L and 45L Outdoor Backpacks.
  • Adjustable fit: Webbing adjusts from 24" to 52" (61–132 cm), fitting a wide range of body sizes without aftermarket modification.
  • Trail-ready pockets: Mesh zip pocket on the right side for snacks or an eSIM card; stretchy slip pocket on the left with a Capture Clip attachment point for quick camera access on the go.
  • Eco-conscious materials: Built from PFAS-free, Bluesign-approved fabric; Fair Trade Certified and 100% carbon neutral — in line with Peak Design's sustainability commitments.

Pack Hacker noted in their Outdoor Backpack 25L review that the hip belt “includes a few convenient stretchy pockets and adds support if needed,” and that it stows cleanly behind the back panel when not in use — ideal for urban-to-trail transitions where you want options without bulk.

Best for: Adventure photographers and trail nomads who regularly load the 25L near capacity with camera bodies, lenses, or hydration, and need hip support for multi-hour hikes. Skip it if: You carry light loads day-to-day or already own the 45L (it ships standard with that pack). Runs ~$50 — check the current price before buying.
